ABOUT THE JUROR
Paul Resika is a highly respected American painter. Using bold colors and recurring motifs inspired by nature and the world around him, his work merges the representational with the abstract. At 19, he began studying with Hans Hoffman. Represented by Lori Bookstein Fine Art in NYC he has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums around the world including galleries in Madrid, Rome, London and Venice and the Corcoran Gallery of Art, The National Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Academy of Design, where he is an Academician. His numerous awards and honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship.
AWARD
A solo show valued at $3000. The artist is to be chosen by the members of the gallery from among the artists approved by the juror (Resika) for inclusion in the Juried Show.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to U.S. resident artists at least 18 yrs. old. Exception: Artists currently represented by First Street Gallery. Eligible works include oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, pastels, drawings, prints and sculpture in any medium. No photography, video, film, or installations. No mechanically reproduced artwork (computer, printer, giclees, etc.). The width of work, including the frame, may not exceed 30 inches. No height limit. Maximum weight of sculpture: 50 pounds. No wall hung sculpture. Sculptors must provide floor stand with a maximum footprint of 30" x 30". Maximum width or depth for sculpture is 30". No height limit. All work must be suitably framed, wired and ready for hanging. Works on paper must be framed under plexiglass or glass.
ACCEPTANCE
Accepted work may be refused if it does not conform to the entered image. Absolutely no substitutions of accepted works will be allowed. All accepted work must remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibit.
SALES
The gallery will take no commission on any work sold . Work not for sale must be marked "N.F.S.". No "P.O.R." sales.
ENTRY FEE
The fee is $35 for 1 - 3 works. $5 for each additional work up to 10 works total. Entry fees are non-refundable.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All entries must be submitted electronically. Judging will be done entirely from JPEGs. No other formats will be accepted. Entry Form must be filled out completely. JPEGs must be 72 dpi, The JPEGs should be at least 600 pixels but not greater than 1200 pixels in either direction. The file size cannot exceed 1 MB for any individual image.
IMAGE LABELING
JPEG images MUST BE labeled as follows:
LAST Name_FIRST Name_The number that corresponds with that work's placement on the Entry Form (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.):

For sculpture, submit two views of each work and label each work:

Files which are mislabeled or lack the artist's name will not be viewed by the juror.
DELIVERY OF WORK
1. Hand-delivered work will be accepted at the gallery ONLY on "Friday, June 18th and Saturday, June 19th , 11:30 AM - 5:30 PM." Packaging must be removed from the gallery at the time of delivery. Floor stand must be brought with sculpture.
2. Shipped work must arrive at the gallery between Tuesday, June 15th and Friday, June 18th, in a reusable container.
RETURN
A computer-generated return label for return of work must be enclosed. Please make pre-paid shipping arrangements through UPS' or FedEx' websites or with other shippers who will pick-up work at the gallery. NO U.S. POSTAL SERVICE OR COD RETURNS. DO NOT SEND CASH, CHECK, OR STAMPS FOR RETURN OF WORK.
Hand-delivered work must be picked up on "Tuesday, July 20th, 11:30 AM - 5:30 PM." The gallery accepts no responsibility for work not retrieved on pick-up date and will charge the artist $5.00 a day thereafter for storage. After 30 days the gallery may dispose of the work.
LIABILITY
Great care will be taken with all work, but artists are responsible for insuring their own pieces if they wish. First Street Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage to work while on the premises or in transit to or from the gallery.
Your payment will serve as your acceptance of the terms and conditions stated in this prospectus.
